The result for the newest smart ratings from Consumer Reports has been released. The report states that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are higher in terms of consumer preference, ahead of even Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7Plus.

According to the Consumer Reports that was released this week, about the ratings of the smartphones, most of the consumers have preferred Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ over Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The report states that it is a not a surprise as iPhone 7 is much older than the Samsung Galaxy S8 series and thus, has comparatively older features.

It further states that apart from the sleek and comfortable design, the battery life of the Galaxy S8 series is remarkably strong and one of the major reason why the phone ranked above its competitors. Another aspect that helped the smartphone to get better ratings is the camera quality, which functions superbly even in low light and reduces the over sharpening of the photos as well. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also a water resistant phone, which means that the phone will work perfectly even when it is immersed in water at a depth of 5 feet and for a time period of 30 minutes.

However, the report also states that a downside of Galaxy S8 is the placement of the fingerprint scanner in the back. One needs to stumble across the lens of the camera before actually reaching the actual fingerprint scanner.

It must be mentioned here that though Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has some shortcomings, it is rumored that iPhone 8 will overcome all the shortcomings and will be equipped with greater features like reduced bezels, a 5.8 inch OLED screen, Touch ID under the display, IP68 waterproofing and an enhanced Siri. With these additions, the new iPhone might give the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ a tough competition.
