Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge: AT&T Rolling out Software Update with March Security Patch

AT&T, Dallas-based Telecommunication Company is rolling a software update via OTA to the current best Samsung flagships-Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Although the software update is a minor one, but it will install the March Security patch on the both the smartphones.

The company is not only concentrating on its aims of launching mobile 5G services to the consumers by late 2018, but it is rolling out the software updates for the mobile users on regular basis.

According to the Android Soul, the software update the company is rolling out to its Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users has a firmware build number G930AUCS4BQC2  for Galaxy S7 and G935AUCS4BQC2 for Galaxy S7 Edge. It is reported that the update will hit the smartphones and the users will receive the notification to install. However, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users can manually check the update from Settings > About device > System updates section.

It is also reported that there is no detailed information on what are the changes that can be seen in the phones after installing the update. However, it is expected that the update will have a few bug fixes and stability optimizations. Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge AT&T users are requested to backup the data before beginning the installation process and connect to a Wi-Fi network with at least 50 percent of battery power.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (G891A)

Earlier, it was also seen that AT&T rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat OS to its Samsung Galaxy S7 Active smartphones on AT&T platform. The Nougat update has a build number NRD90M.G891AUCU2BQB2 and weighs in at around 1.5GB. The release details also include the baseband version of G891AUCU2BQB2 and Kernel version of 3.18.31-10651105.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active also received the Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass apps together with an Android security fix for the month of February. The other updates made includes the enabling of 'App Select' in Setup and Transfer and removal of AT&T Address Book.
