Miley Cyrus' Parents Halt Divorce For Second Time: 'We Both Woke Up And Realized We Love Each Other'

For the second time in three years, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus have called off their divorce.

"We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together," the pair said in a statement. "We both went into couples therapy, something we haven't done in 22 years of being together, and it brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways."

"Marriage can be really hard especially after 22 years of being in entertainment," they continued. "We've had rough times but we both realized we didn't want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work."

The announcement comes one month after Tish filed for divorce, sparking an intense Twitter fued between daughter Miley Cyrus and her father.

Following the filing in June, Cyrus called out her father on the social media site saying, "Since your texts and email obviously aren't working, would you like to talk like this?" When he didn't issue a public response, Cyrus tweeted again, this time saying "Since you won't reply to my texts, I'm giving you can hour to tell the truth or I'll tell it for you." Along with the tweet, she included a picture of herself and Broadway actress Dylis Croman who starred alongside Billy Ray in a revival of "Chicago." The tweet, which was later deleted, sparked rumors that the two had engaged in an affair. It was never confirmed.

Tish and Billy Ray also split and reconciled in 2010.

"Big thanks to all of our family, friends and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers," Tish said at the time. "Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been."

Now, the couple seems to be in good spirits. Tish recently posted a happy photo of the pair on Instagram and captioned it "Date night."
