Channing Tatum will once again be getting down and dirty in the sequel to "Magic Mike." It has been confirmed for months now that the "White House Down" actor would be appearing in "Magic Mike 2." He recently spoke to "Extra" about the upcoming movie hinting that his co-star Jamie Foxx could make an appearance.
"If they need me to bring it home, brother. If they need me. Anything that Channing Tatum is doing I'm 100 percent all in," Foxx said to "Extra."
Tatum said there is "a very interesting part" in the movie that is similar to Matthew McConaughey's part in the first one that Foxx could be playing. In the first "Magic Mike" McConaughey played Dallas, a former stripper and the owner of the strip club Tatum's character worked at.
Tatum told The Hollywood Reporter that the sequel will not be about Mike's (Tatum's character) life as a stripper but will revolve around a road trip.
"It will essentially be the move that everyone though the first one was going to be: crazy, fun and less slice-of-life and less drama," Tatum said. "The first one, we had to make not so cheesy and campy; this one we are going to swing for the fences."
In a Q&A with Glamour Magazine the actor revealed that things are still trying to be worked out the film and the idea to do a prequel has been thrown around to show how Mike and the other characters became strippers. In the first movie Tatum's character retires at the end so a prequel could be a great idea. Steven Soderbergh, who directed the movie, said there are a lot of things that was touched on in the first movie that would easily carry over into another film.
"There were some stories and events that Channing lived through that we just couldn't fit in the first one," he said in an interview with the Pride Source. "One of them is a really hilarious and very cinematic ide that we reluctantly didn't put in the first film, because it was such a bog idea you could build a whole film out of it - but we didn't want to build that film out of it. It's perfect for this, though."
