Anyone who has been following the ongoing saga of the "Deadpool" film knows that the project did it's time in development hell. Even then, it was still very much a "could totally be happening" kind of project. It had a viable star in Ryan Reynolds, a director (Tim Miller) and a solidly humorous script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. There was even some well-known test footage shot. But, the "Deadpool" flick never got as far as picking locations...until now.

According to a post over at Global News, "Deadpool" will start filming in Ryan Reynolds' hometown of Vancouver this March. Whether March is the official start of filming is another story entirely, but since this movie has a February 12, 2016 release date to make, they'd have to be moving at a pretty rapid pace to complete it in time.

Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool from 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" for the film, which has two solid months booked at Vancouver's North Shore Studios. The actor was born in Vancouver and it seems that he still has family in the city as well.

Quite honestly, I'm not expecting too much from this film. While the test footage was amusing, I'm uncertain if Reynolds can carry a superhero film after the debacle that was 2011's "Green Lantern"...the only superhero movie I've ever fell asleep on while watching.
