According to a report by TMZ, Selena Gomez has fired her parents as her mangers. Sources close to the singer told the site that Gomez fired her mother, Mandy Teefey, and her step-father, Brian Teefey last month. Gomez's parents have been managing her since she her days as a Disney star.

"We're told Selena feels she's outgrown her parents. She believes she's now old enough - and famous enough - to have a seasoned professional manager with other A-list clients," TMZ writes.

Reportedly the singer has argued a lot with her parents over the direction of her career and her relationship with Justin Bieber. However, the source said the split had nothing to do with family friction and she remains close with her parents.

There were reports that friends close to Gomez wanted to stage an intervention and break up her and Bieber.  The two have been inseparable since they started dating again a few months ago.

"They talked about staging some sort of intervention to get her away from him but at this point that would only push her closer to him," the source said. "Until he screws up again there's not much that anyone can do."

"Their relationship is as toxic as possible - they love each other, they hate each other, Justin hooks up with other girls," the source added. "Plus, they keep hearing from friends and other people to not hang out, which only makes them want to be together more. It is solid, awkward and there is no end in sight. They are still going to be in each other's lives and it will be all over the place."

The "Stars Dance" singer was spotted visiting Bieber at a Miami recording studio on Apr. 8 where he has been recording for a week.
