Sweden concreted steps for Türkiye's condition last Tuesday to convince that it wants to get its NATO bid approved. The Swedish parliament declares its lawmakers will have a vote on the amendment to its constitution that allows Türkiye's demands of laws to deport terrorists.

Sweden Seeks To Be a NATO Member

Türkiye a week ago told Stockholm of its condition to enact new rules in the laws that will be a way for their bid to join the military bloc, reported Republic World.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told the Swedes their concerns are that they must fulfill the condition for acceptance. But instead of acting on it, the Baltic nation has yet to work entirely on it. To this effect, their legislature had all voted for the amendment to their law which will allow demands concerning groups considered terrorists, noted Al Jazeera.

New Swedish PM Focuses on Türkiye's Conditions

The vote was coordinated after a meeting between Sweden's new Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, and Türkiye's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, geared to Türkiye's condition for a successful bid.

Istanbul has stated that the two Nordic countries seeking membership will not have their applications approved and arguments dropped against the suspects.

Accused as terrorists behind the 2016 Turkish coup are deported back. These Nordic nations have let go of their former policy of neutrality from siding with any military power. Still, their bid for membership in the western military alliance is seen as reproachable. A special military operation in Ukraine last February made them want to be part of NATO.

Türkiye, a member since 1952, has openly opposed their accession; if one member objects, the prospective applicant cannot join according to the rules.

The top diplomat of Sweden nation informed the center-right government would finally accede to Ankara's acceptance. Its former feminist foreign policy will be dropped as a consequence. Its current Swedish foreign minister Tobias Billström informed the new administration is aware of what the Turks want to be done about the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK. They are outlaws, according to Turkiye.

Making it clear that his government will do what is necessary when the PKK is concerned, Billström told the AP News.

Furthermore, the official stated that they support a policy prohibiting terrorist organizations from operating on Swedish territory.
