Users of Lenovo devices started an online petition calling for an Android 7.1 Nougat update for Lenovo smartphones and tablets.

One of the complaints indicated in the petition, which is available at Change.org, is the alleged despicable service of Lenovo.

One supporter of the campaign commented, "Lenovo Tab S8-50 is approaching two years without receiving a single update. Lenovo has no consideration for its customers. If they have abandoned these devices, they should be honest and announce it."

This situation is true for almost all Lenovo android devices with lagging system updates. As per Neuro GadgetLenovo smartphones and tablets are still running under the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and 32-bit processor versions whereas some of these devices are eligible to run Android 7.1 Nougat OS.

As such, the petition has two urgent requests -- that "Lenovo must provide Android 7.1 Nougat as soon as possible for qualifying Lenovo devices," and it "must stop the abandoning of Lenovo mobile devices which lead them devoid of software support."

Lenovo users also demand that the company should come out and provide information about the lack of updates.

Petitioners further wrote, "We consider it rude to be forgotten and Lenovo must work responsibly to provide timely Android updates."

Petitioners further asserted that the update is much needed for security and other vulnerabilities of Lenovo android devices.

The Android 7.1 Nougat is the latest android security patch released by Google last month.

As for Lenovo, it is yet to release official comment regarding the matter. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
