As if this week wasn't already heartbreaking enough for Céline Dion with the death of her husband, her brother Daniel Dion is now currently fighting for his life. Less than one day after her husband René Angélil passed away after a long battle with cancer, it has been revealed that her brother is on his deathbed and only has hours left to live, according to TMZ. Daniel, 59, has been fighting brain, tongue and throat cancer in Montréal and is currently surrounded by his family as they do not believe he will make it through another week.

"It's very painful," their sister Claudette told the Journal of Montréal. "It's a matter of days or hours."

She then explained the cancer he has been suffering and how it's looking "a lot like René," as he also passed from throat cancer.

"Our family is very experienced," she added. "He is 59 years old, very young to be the end of his life."

While the family plans to remain by Daniel's side, they can't help but be grateful for all the love they have received since Angélil passed on Thursday. "We received a lot of support and comfort after the announcement of his death," Claudette continued to explain. "It shows how much he was great and he left no one indifferent. In sentencing, it is heartening to see how much he was loved."

On Friday morning, an announcement was made that Céline's upcoming concerts in Las Vegas this weekend would be cancelled following the devastating news, as HNGN previously reported. The 47-year-old iconic singer will resume her performances on Feb. 23.
