Jennifer Aniston always shines with her sun-kissed skin and she consciously changed her sun-tanning routine a few years ago to keep her skin looking radiant.

"I gave myself a sun-tanning intervention a few years ago, where I was basically saying, 'Let's just quit while we're ahead,'" Aniston told People. "I was not great as a kid with sunscreen. That's one of my big regrets."

The "Friends" alum serves as the brand ambassador for Aveeno and is the co-owner of the hair care company, Living Proof. Her greatest ally though when it comes to her skin is the amount of water she drinks daily.

"I drink water endlessly. Like five [bottles] a day," Aniston said. "Now it's just such habit. There are so many lazy water drinkers!"

The 46-year-old actress also has cut down on how often she wears makeup, which she credits in part to her role in "Cake."

"When I was filming 'Cake," I didn't wear any makeup," Aniston said. "I was taken aback by how nervous I got about walking outside and known that there was probably going to be a whole group of photographers."

She continued, "But then I just let go and I didn't care. And over the next five weeks of shooting that, I really loved it. I wasn't attached [to makeup]. If anything, putting on makeup felt so weird."

In addition to her skincare regime, Aniston maintains a simple workout plan. Her cardio includes riding the bike, the elliptical and running, each for 15 minutes.

"Usually, my love is running," she told Yahoo! Beauty. "On the elliptical I kind of do sprints for 90 seconds, take it back to a job for 30 seconds, and do intervals for the last minutes. Then I mix a day of yoga."

Aniston also is working on a cookbook, but has no release date set.
