We've done it. Man has gotten his "a** to Mars." At least in the film "The Martian."

Astronaut Mark Watney, played by Matt Damon, is presumed dead after a fierce storm. His crew has deserted him. Watney has been stuck for four years at a science station equipped to support crew for one month.

With "his ingenuity, wit and spirit" combined with paltry supplies, Watney must figure out how to signal Earth, 20th Century Fox wrote on YouTube.

"Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring 'the Martian' home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission," the post continued. "As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney's safe return."

The film, directed by Ridley Scott, is based on a best-selling novel by Andy Weir. The cast of stars include Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover.

Footage was screened in April at CinemaCon, where, according to Variety, the film "elicited a strong response from exhibitors."

We'll have our chance to see it when it opens in theaters on Nov. 25.
