The actress who played Mrs. Walsh, the frazzled mother in "The Goonies," who couldn't pronounce "Data" and had Mouth translate (loosely) to her Spanish-speaking housekeeper, has died.

Mary Ellen Trainor died in her home in Montecito, Calif., on May 20. She was 62, according to The Wrap (via MSN). Her lifelong friend, fellow San Diego State alum and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, made the announcement that Trainor died due to complications from pancreatic cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When asked in 2013 what she loved most about filming "The Goonies," Trainor said, "The shenanigans of the kids (Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Josh Brolin, Jonathan Ke Quan, et al). They all fell in love with each other. And Dick Donner encouraged that."

Trainor also played police psychiatrist Stephanie Woods in all four "Lethal Weapon" movies. In 1980, Trainor married writer and director Robert Zemeckis. She appeared in many of his films, including "Back to the Future Part II," "Death Becomes Her" and "Forrest Gump." The couple divorced in 2000.

Before her 1985 role in "The Goonies," Trainor made her silver screen debut a year earlier with "Romancing the Stone," playing Elaine, the kidnapped sister of Kathleen Turner's character. Trainor also appeared in "The Monster Squad," "Die Hard" and "Scrooged."

Survivors include her son Alex, her mother Jane and siblings Ned, Jack, Barbara and Carolyn.

A memorial service will be held on June 19. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and Wounded Warriors.
