Emile Hirsch appeared in a Utah court on Monday while his lawyers settled on a date for prosecutors to present evidence in the case stemming from assault charges against the actor, according to The Associated Press.

Police charged Hirsch with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor intoxication when he allegedly attacked a female Paramount Pictures studio executive at the Tao nightclub in Park City, Utah on Jan. 25 during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

The 30-year-old actor was subdued during his court appearance and then declined to comment outside the courthouse, according to the AP. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 17.

The "Into the Wild" star checked into an alcohol rehab facility in February. His attorney's claim their client has no recollection of the incident because he drank too much that night.

"Emile takes these allegations very seriously, and is devastated that any of this has occurred. A few days after the incident, Emile sought help and check himself into an alcohol rehabilitation facility, where he remains today, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again," Hirsch's lawyer Robert Offer said in a statement at the time.
