The three main characters heading from “The Vampire Diaries” to “The Originals” (Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus) will probably force the end of some storylines for season five of TVD—most importantly Klaus/Caroline and Rebekah/Matt.

Actress Claire Holt (Rebekah,) recently discussed, Rebekah’s future with Matt, her possible new love interest and her future in New Orleans, according to BuddyTV.com.

Holt pretty much shot down any hope for Rebekah and Matt.

“I think that love affair is sadly coming to an end,” said Holt. “I can’t imagine they’re going to do long distance.”

“It was a mutually beneficial sweet relationship.”

In another Comic-Con interview Holt confirms we will see Rebekah in the first episode of TVD, according to TV After Dark.

So….Rebekah’s next relationship?

“It’s going to have to be someone she’s not related to, which doesn’t leave many options right now.” (Since two of the few main characters are her brothers.) “I don’t know I’ll let you put two-and-two together,” she said

One reporter asked about the possibility of Marcel. “Who knows, I imagine maybe there could be.”

Holt also said “The Originals” will be more about the “family drama” as opposed to the romance. It is also a “darker” show compared to “The Vampire Diaries” and being set in New Orleans will add “a whole new element” bringing in some of the cities “mythology and history.”

Holt talked about something that we all know Rebekah has a chance of doing at some point in the show—betraying Klaus. When asked about the possibility of Rebekah joining Marcel, Holt said:

“He betrayed her a lot of times so she may cross over to the dark side.”

“The Originals” is scheduled to premier Thursday Oct. 3 9/8c.
