Season 4 of "The Vampires Diaries" foreshadowed some huge changes for Season 5. The Mystic Falls gang graduated from high school. Klaus is moving to New Orleans which translates to his own show. Oh, and Silas is likely to pretend he’s Stefan for the foreseeable future.

“The Vampire Diaries” Executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries recently discussed some of those changes that we will see next season, according WetPaint.com.

Plec talked about the Caroline’s future. Although Carolina and Tyler make a nice couple, it would be cool to see her end up with Klaus. However, it doesn’t look like she’ll be going back and forth between TVD and “The Originals.”

“Caroline is in true Caroline Forbes form, trying to make the best of her college experience, in spite of several disappointments that come her way, and a challenge that she has to face in her relationship with Tyler who she still loves very, very deeply and remains deeply committed to,” explains Plec. Dries adds that, despite Tyler’s freedom from Claus, we won’t see him for the first couple episodes. However, he'll appear in a “very moving” moment.

According to the EPs Caroline and Elena will now attend Whitmore college, which will add a different dynamic to the show.

“…the girls just want to go to college and be normal functioning vampires,” said Dries. “And that's their plan. They just want to like party, meet boys, go to class, learn, and of course, it just goes terribly awry.”

So what about Elena and Damon?

“…she's got this really loving and thrilling relationship with Damon that she's been experiencing all summer,” said Plec.

“…luckily, Whitmore's just a car ride away, so it's long distance, but they're still going to have scenes together and stuff, so it's not like she's going away forever,” explained Dries.
