After being admitted to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation after setting fire to a driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif., troubled star Amanda Bynes is finally getting help, and TMZ has learned recently that doctors have placed her on an extended hospital hold. Where are her parents and what's the status of their application for conservatorship?

Byne's strange tweets about plastic surgery and body image, bizarre public behavior, confrontations with paparazzi and run-ins with the law have made many speculate on whether or not the star is mentally ill or just acting strange for publicity. Ever since police placed her on an involuntary 5150 hold, it's been clear that Bynes is starting to finally receive the help she needs, and we're wishing her all the best.

Sources told TMZ that Bynes had been held against her will at the hospital for 2 weeks, and at today's hearing as part of her parent's ongoing battle to win temporary conservatorship over their 27-year old daughter, whom they feel may pose a risk to herself and others, Bynes's doctors were granted a request by a judge to hold Bynes for another 30 days. Legally, doctors may be granted such an extension if their patient is determined as "gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder."

The hold will remain in effect until Sept. 30, around the time Bynes's parents hope to finally gain conservatorship over her, which will give them access to her finances.

"Amanda has profound issues with her body image and is obsessed with the idea that she (and others) are 'ugly,'" her said recently, according to TMZ. "She talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants to have completed. We are concerned that the surgeries she wants to have are dangerous and detrimental to her health."

Though there is no evidence that Bynes has had any plastic surgery done to her face, her parents are also concerned about her spending habits and "extreme paranoia," which she demonstrated while visiting them at their Thousand Oaks home.

This seems to fall in line with many of Bynes's tweets claiming that magazines have posted "fake" pictures of her and that there may be a girl posing as her in a wig, in addition to the following unsettling tweet:

TMZ has also reported that Bynes seems to be responding well to treatment, as sources report that Bynes has stopped talking to herself and has become more polite and stopped insulting others, something she repeatedly did on Twitter which made her a constant media target. Recently rapper Drake, whom Bynes has claimed has a "mutual crush" on her, has spoken out about the star, telling XXL magazine that it's "obviously a behavioral pattern that is way bigger than me," and admitting that Bynes's bizarre behavior is "a little weird and disturbing."

We wish Amanda Bynes and her family the best of luck, and hope does well during the rest of her stay at the hospital. As for what Bynes has been diagnosed with, some speculate schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, though this information is private and has not been released.
