After telling its users and potential customers the Xbox One would not come with a headset, Microsoft seems to have made another reversal of policy in order to make its next generation console more appealing to users.

Xbox Community Manager Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has confirmed that the "Day One" version of the console, as well as the standard version of the console, will come with a headset. In an unboxing video, seen below, Major Nelson posted on Thursday, he showed off the headset as well as all the other components that will be put in user's hands once they purchase the console including a controller, kinect, and an HDMI cable.

Last month the company made negative press when it said Xbox One customers would have to pay $25 for headsets separate from the device that connects users by voice to one another in the multiplayer community.

The headset is becoming more and more of a necessity to online gaming. The company announced last week that it will be putting all of its online content behind a pay wall. Users need to subscribe to an Xbox Live Gold membership in order to utilize any and all online content including video streaming, recording and sharing of games and multiplayer. Users didn't take kindly to the reveal that not only would they have to pay $60 a year for most of the Xbox One's key features, but would also have to pay $25 up front in order to be able to talk with friends or engage strangers online. PlayStation 4 already made huge gains against the Xbox One at E3 and in subsequent announcements since. News that all Xbox One users will have a headset upon unboxing the device this holiday season could be a big win for Xbox if Sony has no plans for a mandatory communication device for users.
