Tom Guiry, the actor who played "Smalls" in the iconic children's movie "The Sandlot," was arrested at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston over the weekend for acting drunk, belligerent and head-butting a police officer after trying to kick him in the face, TMZ reports.

A United Airlines employee told Guiry he was too intoxicated to fly and contacted an airport officer. A law enforcement source told TMZ that was Guiry was given the options of a public intoxication arrest or time in the "drunk tank" until he sobered up.

Apparently, Guiry didn't like this, as he began acting verbally abusive towards the officer and threatening him. After allegedly attempting to kick him in the face, Guiry successfully head-butted him before being taken down, handcuffed and booked for a felony assault on a police officer. We're thinking the drunk tank would have been a better alternative.

After being posted for $5,000 bail, Guiry was released. TMZ reached out to Guiry's people, but they were not available for comment.

Since his "Sandlot" days, Guiry has starred in several films, including 2004's "Lassie" and "Black Hawk Down" in 2001. The actor has also made appearances on "Elementary," "CSI: Miami" and "Unforgettable."
