A video showing how a self-parking car accidentally drove into two journalists has horrified a lot of its viewers.

A grey Volvo XC60, known to be a self-parking car, is seen in the video initially attempting to park when it suddenly drove at a much higher speed and hit two men.

"It appears as if the car in this video is not equipped with Pedestrian detection," Volvo spokesperson Johan Larsson told Fusion. "This is sold as a separate package."

Those looking to buy the car have to buy a separate package for the special feature called the "Pedestrian Detection Functionality," which uses radar and cameras to see pedestrians. When pedestrians are detected, it will send a signal to its auto-breaking features.

"City-Safe" is the mode that stops the cars from crashing into others when they are moving at 30 miles per hour or less. However, the mode isn't able to spot humans, even if it's turned on, The Independent reported.

The incident happened in the Dominican Republic, and the blogger who uploaded the video has mentioned that the two men that were hit "were bruised but are ok," Fusion reported.

The Pedestrian detection feature has been around since 2011 and costs around $3,000, according to IEEE.
