A controversial t-shirt design was for sale in PacSun stores until an upset shopper chose to share the design on Facebook.

The t-shirt featured an upside-down American Flag, and was for sale in an Alabama store, NY Daily News reported.

One upset customer, Rachel Zawacki-Kuss, chose to post a picture of the shirt on her Facebook complaining about the design, and her post ended up going completely viral.

"Saw this at your location at Tanger Outlets this morning in Foley, Alabama," Zawacki-Kuss wrote. "I understand freedom of speech but this shirt, displayed prominently at the entrance of your store, for Memorial Day weekend is more distasteful and disrespectful than anything I thought I'd see. I will not be shopping at PacSun again."

Her message received over 5,000 shares and generated a lot of negative comments and disgust.

Zawacki-Kuss just wanted the company to understand what this holiday is about.

"It was not the ideal time to bring that shirt front and center," she continued. "The American Flag is a symbol of freedom that they fought and died for. Seeing the flag used that was was incredibly upsetting to me...The display was in bad taste, it was disrespectful and insensitive to the sacrifices that have been made by so many service members."

An employee reached out to NY Daily News and explained that the black t-shirt with white print, which was designed by rapper A$AP Rocky, was removed from its business following the complaint. PacSun denied any further comment.

The shirt is still up on the company's website, but is listed as "sold out."
