Electronic Arts has finally announced SimCity for Mac on August 29, five months after being launched on PC.

Electronic Arts released the PC version of the latest social version of Maxis' city-building simulation SimCity earlier in March and announced that it will launch the game for Mac users on June 11. But due to a rough start with the PC launch, EA said that the game was not "ready for primetime" and postponed the launch date.

EA has now revealed the launch date of SimCity for Mac after fixing several bugs, engine simulation and server problems, hoping for a smoother start.

SimCity shared the news through its official Twitter account. "Good news, Mayors! #SimCity is coming to Mac on Aug 29. RT if you can't wait to start building on the Mac," read the tweet.

EA has been releasing several updates to give its customers a smooth gaming experience. The game publisher recently released its sixth update which mainly focuses on RCI improvements and also extended a new region to build, called the Granite Lake Region.

SimCity is a cross-platform simulation game, which allows users from different platforms (Windows PC and Mac), to play together by connecting online. If you have downloaded the PC version of the game then the Mac version of the game is available for free via Origin, according to the company's announcement. EA confirmed that both standard and deluxe editions of the game will be available for Mac players for $40 and $60, respectively.
