Candace Cameron-Bure started on "Full House" at age 10 playing older sister D.J. Tanner, and 20 years later, she's about to step back into the shoes of her most well-known character.

Cameron-Bure will reprise her role as D.J. in the "Full House" spinoff "Fuller House," set to premiere on Netflix next year, and she's totally cool with being known for that role as long as she lives.

"I've now realized by doing 'Fuller House' I just sealed the deal," the 39-year-old actress told Headlines & Global exclusively at The Paley Center for Media's "An Evening with 'Dancing with the Stars'" on May 14. "I will forever now be known as D. J. But there is nothing wrong with that, I'll take it and run with it."

"Fuller House" will revolve around the recently widowed D.J. who has two children and another one on the way. She asks her best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber), who also has a teenage daughter, and sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) to move in with her to help take care of her growing family.

"I'm very excited about the show," Cameron-Bure said. "It is weird because I've always been proud of being on Full House and being D.J., that's something I've always embraced and thought wonderful."

Since "Full House" went off the air in 1995, Cameron-Bure married her husband Valeri Bure, a former Russian hockey player, in 1996. They have three children: a daughter Natasha and two sons, Lev and Maksim.

She has starred in a string of TV movies and shows and proved she could "cha cha" with the best of them when she placed third on the 18th season of "Dancing with the Stars." Although she loves being known as D.J. Tanner, Cameron-Bure enjoys when fans recognize her from other things she's done.

"It does get a little exciting when people go, 'I know you from "Dancing With The Stars" or for all of your Hallmark movies.' It's nice when people can identify you with something a little more than something you did 20 years ago," she said with a laugh.

Production will start soon on "Fuller House." Other original cast members that have officially signed on to the spinoff include Dave Coulier as Joey and John Stamos as Uncle Jesse. The latter will also serve as an executive producer on the show.
