In a deadpan understatement, Bob Weir, a founding member of the Grateful Dead, says, "I've led a kind of unusual life." He's speaking in the newly released trailer for a documentary about him coming to Netflix later this month called "The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir."

The short clip shows Weir recounting his time alongside Jerry Garcia in the band he joined at 16 years old, some discussion about Weir's tomcat ways with women and friend and hard rocker Sammy Hagar expressing his admiration for Weir's ego-less ability to play second fiddle for decades to the larger-than-life Garcia.

In addition to new interviews with Weir's bandmates, the film includes archival and performance footage, according to Rolling Stone.

As Variety notes, the film debuted at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and won the audience award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, also in 2014.

Weir, along with surviving Grateful Dead core members Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, will perform together at a series of reunion/farewell concerts in June and July.

"The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir" will be available on Netflix starting May 22.
