This soldier broke some rules and risked his life to save the life of a cat who he met on the battlefield.

The cat, who helped get the soldier out of his "darkest place," wasn't living a good life in Afghanistan so the American soldier risked his life to bring the feline home with him.

Although it was risky, the cat made it to the U.S. safe and sound where he is living happily ever after with his soldier friend!
