The OnePlus One is a very unique phone that left a strong impact on the Android smartphone community. The phone received strong reviews in its early days for its low price and high-quality hardware. However, the company took an unusual method for marketing and selling the device; users had to acquire an invite to purchase it. This method was used to maintain sales numbers and to make sure OnePlus had the proper equipment and quality that it required.

However, that invite is no longer necessary. OnePlus marketing specialist Bradon Hardwood posted a blog post on Monday announcing that the OnePlus was now available for purchase without an invitation. "Since the early days, our company has changed quite a lot," he wrote. "We've grown to over 700 employees and have sold over one million OnePlus Ones worldwide. We've also learned an immeasurable amount from all of you......Your feedback has resulted in a wider range of accessories, better logistics options and an evolution from invites to pre-orders to Tuesday Open Sales. Now, we're taking it one step further."

In honor of the OnePlus One's birthday, Bradon says that OnePlus is "opening up sales globally for everyone, every day of the week." This is because OnePlus believes that it has "matured enough to handle the increased complexity that comes along with opening up sales completely."

But that's not the only reason. Hardwood also alluded to the eventual release of OnePlus One 2, the physical successor to the OnePlus One.

OnePlus is also offering a 75 percent discount on OnePlus Flip Covers and Premium Screen Protectors sold in the U.S., Canada, China, Taiwan and the European Union for the next 24 hours.
