Today, the Apple Watch will appear in a variety of Apple stores so that users have the chance to see and test the system for themselves. They also have the ability to pre-order the device and either pick it up in-store, or have it mailed to them. But how responsive was the audience?

Early reports revealed that almost all versions of the Apple Watch were pre-ordered. All of the watch's shipping dates continue to increase as more and more users put their preorders in.

"Although availability varies by SKU, many Apple Watch and Apple Watch Editions are now not expected to ship until June, or even later. The Rose Gold Apple Watch Editions do not ship until July, for instance. International availability is even more scarce. In Japan, some models indicate six month shipping times," 9to5Mac reported

This isn't a surprising development, though. Apple posted a press release earlier this week that alluded to a limited supply, which customers shouldn't expect to change in the near future.

But what about in-store visits? Early international reports show that very few Apple fans showed up on April 10's morning to try out the new gadget. Most of them had set up appointments for accessing the device, but the crowds were pretty thin.

This could be because of how the pre-order system is built. "(customers can) preorder the watch, which won't go on sale until April 24, but since this is done via Apple's online store, they could just as easily order at home, or through Apple's mobile app," PCWorld noted. But this could easily just have happened because nobody wants to wait for hours just so they can touch a gadget that they can't buy.
