A new game trailer for Pokemon X & Y shows off new features from the game including surfing, fishing, battles and some images of the coastal environments.

Following its showcase on a Japanese TV Show earlier this week, a new trailer for Pokemon X & Y debuted with more than three minutes of gameplay footage. The footage was made available on YouTube shortly after. The video trailer can be found below.

The new Pokemon game will be the first to utilize the 3D aspect of the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming device. The game will be released to fans on Oct. 12 and feature new graphics, as well as, a variety of other new things that come with the release of any new Pokemon game.

In addition to the news about the game's launching and some of the new features, Pokemon fans will also be pleased to hear that the game is not only the first outing of the 6th generation of Pokemon titles, it has also provided an excuse for the genre to launch a new anime series. Pokemon Monsters XY anime will start airing in October in Japan and should eventually be translated for a Western audience soon after.

The game promises, among other things, to debut the 18th type of Pokemon, the Fair. This is supposed to be a very effective class against Dragon type Pokemon and includes a new evolution of Evee called Sylveon. The new class will retroactively include Jigglypuf, Fardevoir and Marill. The games will also include two new Pokemon, Noivern and Vivillon. The two will have unique powers and change up the regular operating paradigm behind the games that has made them so popular amongst fans for so many generations.

Tell us what you think. Are you excited for Pokemon X & Y or have you lost interest in the franchise? Or, perhaps you feel that a previous generation game was significantly better than the promises made by Pokemon X & Y. Share below and watch the new gameplay footage.
