Google sent out invitations to a breakfast meeting/press event for July 24 in order to unveil something to the public. Android and Chrome chief executive Sundar Pichai will headline the event. With such little information given as to what the nature of the unveiling will be, rumors and speculation are already starting to circulate. The consensus seems to be between three things.

Pichai will take the stae at Dogpatch Studios in San Francisco at 9 a.m. on July 24 and all signs point to the unveiling of something big. One thing that people are speculating about is the unveiling of a new Android operating system, the 4.3 Jelly Bean. The company was expected to release the new os back in February at Google I/O but that didn't happen as expected. Instead many think that Pichai will take this opportunity to show off Jelly Bean. It would be long overdue as Android tends to update regularly. As for the much talked about Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie, that isn't expected to come out until later this year.

However, as the Silicon Valley Business Journal mentions, a big press event doesn't seem worthy of just the announcement of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Perhaps then, the company is gearing up to unveil the new Nexus 7 tablet device. Google launched the tablet about a year ago and speculation is running high that the time has come to replace the device with a fresh tablet soon.

According to leaked photos from the Android Business Journal, they've attained the first probably pictures of the Nexus 7 as well as a sheet of specifications. If the sepcs are correct, the new tablet will be made by ASUS and feature a 7-inch screen, front and back cameras, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and a price of $229 and $269 depending on the features. This would put the cost of the tablet at $100 less than Apple's iPad Mini.

Finally, the last bit of technology swirling around the Google rumor mill is the Moto X smartphone. Google has been building up buzz around the American made smartphone for a while now. In fact, the company has decided that it will spend $500 million just to market the device. With all of this hype, including full page adds in fourth of July newspaper issues, it only makes sense that the company would unveil the device sometime very soon, so why not next week?
