It seems like "Fashion Police" just won't be the same without Joan Rivers ... as if viewers didn't know that already.

The E! channel released a statement yesterday saying that the show will be on a hiatus until next September, most likely due to the fact that both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin have decided to part ways with the harsh fashion critics.

Osbourne declared that she wanted to pursue other career opportunities, but did not leave on a sour note, despite being bothered by co-host Giuliana Rancic's racist comment about Zendaya's hair at the Oscars.

"I feel like she smells like patchouli oil," Rancic said.

"You know what; it was the five best working years of my life. I am so grateful for the experience -- working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible. I learned so much and I'm excited for my future. I want to try new things," Osbourne told the ladies of "The Talk."

E! previously said that "Fashion Police" would air as scheduled on March 20 despite the exits of Osbourne and Griffin, but new episodes are being scrapped for now.

"We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with Executive Producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of "Fashion Police" fans around the world," E! said in a statement.

Griffin, who is a feminist and an advocate for the gay community and anyone else who is "underrepresented," was thrilled to take on the role of a "brash" woman who pokes fun at celebrities and their fashion faux pas, but felt as if her humor was being forced to go down an avenue that her personal beliefs do not echo.

"After 7 episodes of 'Fashion Police,' I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it's time to move on," the 54-year-old comedian wrote in a lengthy Twitter post last Thursday.

E!'s hiatus announcement came one day after Griffin appeared on "The View" to discuss why she chose to quit on March 12. She also revealed that she often felt uneasy while being on the show.

She felt forced to "comment about pictures of beautiful women in perfect dresses and say kind of bad things," the Huffington Post reported.

There are no new replacements for the two empty chairs just yet, but the network is currently considering NeNe Leakes, Chrissy Teigen, Amber Rose or Khloe Kardashian to fill the roles, HNGN previously reported.

"With the benefit of hindsight, we definitely brought it (the show) back too soon," Frances Berwick, president of NBCUniversal's lifestyle networks group, told The Hollywood Reporter.
