No, the Philadelphia Eagles did not ultimately sign quarterback Tim Tebow after a recent workout. But the fact that they even brought him in is interesting. After flipping Nick Foles for the oft-injured Sam Bradford, it's understandable that Philly would want a secure third option on the depth chart. But could something else have been going on, something more connected to head coach Chip Kelly's ego?

"There are a lot of people in this league, I've found, general managers, coaches, that want him to succeed," Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman said. "...They overlook flaws that they don't overlook with other guys. When another guy throws an inaccurate football, they let go of him. When Tim Tebow does, they let it go...I think one of the big things here, though, is that Chip Kelly, if he ends up signing him, wants to be the guy that sort of made Tim Tebow. That got people to look at Tebow in a different way and got him on the right path. There's a little bit of, 'genius, I think I'm a genius, I'm gonna prove everyone wrong,' in Chip Kelly."

Of course, this is purely conjecture. But Kelly fought hard for personnel control this offseason and has not been shy in remaking over this team in his image recently. The Eagles have enjoyed back-to-back 10 win seasons under Kelly but are now facing a lot of questions after a series of bold moves. Kelly will come out of this situation looking either like a genius or a fool.
