Lena Dunham congratulated Kathy Griffin for her decision to part ways with "Fashion Police" after only seven episodes.

The 28-year-old "Girls" star, who is no stranger to being harshly critiqued for her wardrobe choices and her decision to expose her curvy frame on the TV hit drama, took to Instagram to praise the late Joan Rivers' replacement and the news of her departure from the show.

"Congrats to my beautiful friend Kathy Griffin for bravely saying enough is enough to intolerance of all kinds on television," she captioned a photo she shared of Griffin wearing a pair of Minnie Mouse ears. "She's modeling a better way for the youths (and working those ears.)"

Griffin decided to leave because she felt she was starting to contribute "to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference," according to Us Weekly.

The 54-year-old comedian, who is a feminist and an advocate for the gay community and anyone else who is "underrepresented," was thrilled to take on the role of a "brash" woman who pokes fun at celebrities and their fashion faux pas, but felt as if her humor was being forced to go down an avenue that her personal beliefs do not echo.

In her lengthy rant on Twitter, Griffin stated that "her style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and it is time to move on."

Last year, Dunham was at the center of Rivers' offensive comments when the "Fashion Police" host appeared on "The Howard Stern Show."

"Let me ask you something. Lena Dunham, who again I think is terrific, how could she wear dresses above the knee?" Rivers asked Stern. Stern suggested maybe Dunham doesn't care what other people think and wants to wear what makes her happy, to which Rivers replied, "Oh, every woman gives a sh-t."

"You are sending a message out to people saying, 'It's okay! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody dies! Lose your fingers," the then-80-year-old comedian said of Dunham's decision to be naked on her show.

Other stars echoed Lena Dunham's sentiments regarding Griffin's abrupt exit.

"I could not be more proud of you. You have my love and support always," her former "Fashion Police" co-star Kelly Osbourne tweeted.

Osbourne announced her departure from the show last month after 5 years of being on the tough judging panel. Her decision came after Giuliana Rancic's racist comments about Disney star Zendaya's hair at the Oscars.

There are no new replacements for the two empty chairs just yet, but the network is currently considering NeNe Leakes, Chrissy Teigen, Amber Rose or Khloe Kardashian to fill the roles.

"Fashion Police" returns on Monday, March 30 at 9 p.m. with Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski and executive producer Melissa Rivers, Joan Rivers' daughter.
