Next Monday, Apple will host a major promotional event to announce its newest devices and developments. But what should eager consumers expect? Here are the current theories:

  • Apple Watch: There's little doubt Apple will release more information about the Apple Watch. We already know a lot about the device's technical information. For example, We know that Apple plans to release three variations: The Apple Watch, The Apple Watch Sport and the Apple Watch Edition. The watch will come in two different sizes and will require a connected iPhone in order to work. The screens are made of either an ion-strengthened or flexible sapphire display, an HD Retina screen, a built-in NFC chip for enacting Apple Pay transactions and sensors for tracking various aspects of the user's health. Most journalists expect Apple to reveal details about apps, battery length, a final price scheme and, most importantly, a release date for the Apple Watch.

  • Beats Music Streaming: Apple has been slowly revamping the Beats music streaming service after buying last year from Dr. Dre. Early reports predict that Apple will combine the Beats service with iTunes. We've heard reports about the service getting a new recommendation algorithm, as well as Apple hiring popular BBC DJs to curate tunes. However, new reports make it seem it's unlikely that Apple will unveil the service on March 9. But anything is possible.

  • New Macbook: It's been more than a year since Apple announced a new Macbook, leading many to believe Apple could premiere one. Some reports indicate the new model will feature a 12-inch screen and a body that's thinner than the current Macbook Air. This version will also be the first to abandon using a built-in cooling fan.
  • iOS 8.2: The current iPhone operating system is going to need an update before it's compatible with the Apple Watch. It's likely Apple will announce an iOS 8.2 update that will (hopefully) include an app that allows users to modify Apple Watch settings.
