Ice cream researchers - come on, read on - have determined that men (shockingly) fall in love more often than women.

Häagen-Dazs ice cream and The School of Life polled 2,000 British adults and found that more than half of the men surveyed revealed that they have loved more than one person in their lifetime. Only 45 percent of women said the same.

On the other hand, 47 percent of women claimed to have had only one true love compared to 39 percent of men who said the same, The Independent reported.

Among the survey participants - median age of 24 - 5 percent of each gender has not experienced the big "L" word before, but expressed that there is still some time to find "the one."

Though some people haven't felt the butterflies in their stomach, three-fourths are romantics and believe in true love, but don't think they'll find their soulmate through a touch screen. There's something sweet about bumping into a stranger on the street corner, rather than stalking his or her life via social media beforehand. However, you may want to take the results of this study with a pinch of sprinkles because the data is based on some old-fashioned folks whose viewpoints may not fully represent gender ideals.

The survey revealed that each person has their own method to determine the validity of a relationship. One-third believe a relationship begins when you meet his or her family members, 3 percent say a relationship begins after sex and roughly 20 percent feel that when your mate says "I love you," those words seal the deal.

As much as their tough exteriors may say otherwise, men are just as capable - if not more so - as women to fall in love.
