An elderly dog named Mufasa was saved from a hazardous water treatment plant in Los Angeles by an animal rescue organization called Hope for Paws.

When organization founder Eldad Hagar arrived at the scene Mufasa was initially too scared to accept his help.

"Though Mufasa was frightened to be rescued, he quickly embraced the second chance he was being given," Annie Hart, an animal rescue advocate who works closely with Hagar, told The Huffington Post.

Since Mufasa's rescue from the plant filled with dangerous chemicals, he was showered, treated by doctors for an ear infection and intestinal parasites, and given some long-needed love.

Now Mufasa is living with a foster family. Despite his older age, Mufasa is hoping to find a family to adopt him.
