Russell Brand is reportedly not happy about the way his ex-wife Katy Perry portrayed him in her latest interview in the July issue of Vogue magazine, the Huffington Post reports, and the comedian is said to be "devastated" by the things she said about him.

"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry said in her Vogue interview. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."

"He's devastated by what Katy has said, given that they've been in contact on numerous occasions," an unnamed source said to the The Belfast Telegraph. "He can't understand why she would say all these things."

In the interview, Perry insinuated that she hasn't spoken to Brand in months. Brand himself has spoken quite a few times about their 14-month marriage, telling Howard Stern last year, "She's a good person, I've got nothing but love for her." And when asked about his marriage last month, he told Esquire UK, "I tried it and I loved it. I really think [Katy's] a lovely, beautiful person."

However, Brand hasn't always had good things to say about his short-lived marriage to the pop star. On the same 2012 show with Stern, Brand admitted, to going through a series of flings following their divorce. "I had a little bit of a reaction," he said. "Like if you've been on a diet of rice for a while and then suddenly Willy Wonka said. 'I need you to run my chocolate factory."

He also called their marriage "a drag" during an XFM radio show. "That marriage was shaky from the get-go, before I'd even got off the elephant," he said at the time referencing the couple's traditional Hindu marriage ceremony in India.

"It was a drag, man," Brand said at the time. "Let me tell you a thing about marriage. Marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months. This is a sacred 14-month arrangement. Begins on an elephant. Ends in a newspaper..."

Most recently, Brand spoke about wanting his future wife to be "sexually adventurous." Whether or not it was a subtle jab at Perry is unclear, though Brand doesn't seem to hold any ill feelings towards his ex.

"I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited [Brand] time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could," Perry said in her interview. "You saw that in the movie ["Katy Perry: Part Of Me"]. That wasn't edited to leave footage out-there wasn't any footage of him."
