The remains of two blood-sucking mythical creatures have reportedly been discovered by a goat farmer after he stumbled across bizarre-looking dead animals in Chile.

Javier Prohens was alerted about the mysterious findings on the outskirts of the small town of Monte Patria, in the east central Chilean province Limari, by his 54-year-old farmhand Bricio Saldivar, UK MailOnline reported. Upon further inspection of the strange bodies of the unknown creatures, Prohens identified them as Chupacabra creatures, also known as blood-sucking monsters.

"He was clearly scared and said he had been up at the old winery and found two strange bodies," he said about Saldivar's discovery. "When we got there, we saw them lying among some hay bales in one of the cellars."

Initially, the pair believed them to be dead bodies of bats. But upon closer inspection, they became convinced that the remains belonged to mythical creatures.

"At first we thought they might be bats, but when we looked closer, we realized they had to be something else as the heads were too big for bats."

"And then someone said they looked like Chupacabras," he said.

Chupacabra, known as "goat sucker," is said to be a reptile-like mythical creatures with leathery and scaly green-gray skin with sharp pins and quills running down its back. Described to be four feet tall, the creatures are said to hop like kangaroos and are rumored to exist in Central and South America.

The Spanish name comes from the animals' supposed practice of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats.

Now with the recent find in Chile, fear and panic has been sparked among other farmers in nearby areas.

"Our livelihoods are built on goat farming. There are lots of goats here," said Querubin Lebron, 38. "Although it's said they only attack animals, who knows it won't attack our children too."

Meanwhile, a Texas couple had claimed to have captured a Chupacabra in their back garden last April. However, after an investigation, it was established that the creature was a raccoon suffering from scabies, UK MailOnline reported.
