Yahoo has been on a shopping spree ever since Marissa Mayer took over as CEO last year, with their latest announcement of GhostBird Software, a startup that makes picture-taking applications for iPhones as the company seeks ways to ramp up its Flickr product offering.

GhostBird Software, the makers of advanced iOS photography apps, such as KitCam and PhotoForge2, is the latest company to have caught Yahoo's eye, AFP notes. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Toronto, Canada-based GhostBird has been making photo-editing software since 2009. KitCam enables people to shoot photos from their mobiles with a number of different lenses and to personally modify settings such as white balance and exposure.

The PhotoForge series, on the other hand, is aimed at enhancing photos afterwards, with image resizing, cropping, metadata editing, and the resetting of curves and levels.

Yahoo's recent buyout of Tumblr blogging platform for $1.1 billion made headlines and the tech company does not seem to be stopping anytime soon. They recently updated their Yahoo Mail interface and is offering 1 free TB of space on Flickr accounts.
