Yahoo is announcing yet another acquisition, following its much publicized $1 billion acquisition of Tumblr , and this time the company is PlayerScale, the company announced on its website.

PlayerScale, is a Silicon Valley-based company that makes software infrastructure for cross-platform gaming. The companies did not disclose any financial details of the agreement.

According to their website, PlayerScale reaches 150 million users worldwide, and are adding over 400,000 new users every day. PlayerScale helps push games across social and mobile platforms seamlessly. It also gives game developers a way to track revenue and users across multiple platforms.

"Our goal has always been to help developers build the best possible games, without having to worry about building and scaling the infrastructure required to operate today's biggest successes. In working with the folks at Yahoo!, it has become clear that we share this passion," said PlayerScale CEO Jesper Jensen on their website.

According to Yahoo! it will continue to support and grow the company's technology that is used by 150-million players worldwide. "We intend to continue to support and grow PlayerScale's technology, and we look forward to building great new experiences on Yahoo! using the PlayerScale platform," Yahoo said in a blog post.

Ever since Marissa Mayer took over as CEO of Yahoo! in July last year, she has been on a buying spree and has rolled out several updates to the company's existing products. This week, Yahoo announced that Flickr, its file sharing and hosting platform, will now offer 1 TB of free storage space to everyone. Other controversial changes in the company included a decision by Mayer stopped employees from being able to "work from home" which upset several employees.

Mayer is a previous Google executive and   was ranked number 14 on the list of America's most powerful businesswomen of 2012 by Fortune magazine.
