This weekend promises a matchup of desperation and despair.

The 2-11 New York Jets will face off against the 2-11 Tennessee Titans. Regardless of the outcome, it's clear that this has been a disastrous season for the Jets. While rumors have suggested that head coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik are sure to be fired after the season, no final decisions have been made as of yet apparently.

"Black Monday is just 17 days away, but [New York Jets owner Woody] Johnson insisted Wednesday he has not yet made up his mind on what to do about Ryan and Idzik," Gary Myers of the New York Daily News wrote. "A source said Johnson has not yet indicated his plans.

"Even so, Johnson's words strongly indicate big changes are coming as a result of the Jets winning just two of their first 13 games."

Piggybacking off of that, Johnson told the Daily News, "I'm in the business - I got to win games. I'm a fan, I represent the fans. We're both frustrated by this. Ultimately, I am going to have to look for something that I believe is going to right the ship, whether it's the current way, the way we are doing it now with the people we have now or going down a different pathway. I'm looking at everything. I'm analyzing what's happened and why it's happened."

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini believes that Johnson's biggest problem comes from his vantage point. Cimini argues that Johnson approaches the game as an interested spectator instead of a decisive decision maker.

"One of Johnson's problems is he (Johnson) thinks too much like a fan at times, bending to the whims of public pressure," Cimini wrote. "In this case, he's had plenty of time to consider the cause of the debacle and potential solutions. Either way, it doesn't bode well for the current regime."
