In one for the "I wish I had this much disposable income" file, the anniversary edition PlayStation 4 consoles that were designed to look like original PlayStation's are now selling for insane amounts of money. I mean, I'm all for capitalism, free trade, and all that, but this is a bit ridiculous.

According to an article at GameSpot, the gamers who were able to buy a 20th Anniversary PS4 before the limited-edition systems (Sony manufactured just 12,300 of the consoles, with each unit individually numbered) sold out almost immediately turned to eBay to sell the commemorative console.

The online auction site features many listings for the valuable PS4 system, which went on sale the evening of December 6 during PlayStation Experience. Given that the consoles are officially sold out, bidding is going into the "I need to have my *&@^*@$ head examined" range; skyrocketing well above the system's normal $500 asking price. One 20th Anniversary PS4 sold for $20,100, while another went for $15,100. Insane.

You can see all the eBay listings here... if you'd like to lament the fact that you will never own one. And if you do have that much scratch to drop on an item so cool, yet so frivolous, would you consider buying me one for Christmas? I've been a good boy and all that.

No?

Fine...I'll just play with my lumps of coal then and pretend.
