While plugging his latest flick "Exodus" in a conversation with Variety, director Ridley Scott disclosed that he has no plans to direct the anticipated "Blade Runner" sequel developed with the original film's co-writer Hampton Fancher. Regardless, fans will still see Harrison Ford make a triumphant return to his iconic role as Rick Deckard.

"We talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one," Scott said. "Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act."

According to Scott, the "Blade Runner" sequel will begin filming sometime in 2015, although no director has been announced as of yet. Scott will only serve as a producer on this project.

Scott's remarks are the closest thing to a confirmation we have that the "Blade Runner" sequel is definitely being made. He revealed in August that the script was set, but he was unable to say if and/or when the film would happen because of hectic schedule.

Being a huge fan of the original classic, I must say that I am still ambivalent about this project as a whole...even more so now that Scott won't be sitting in the director's chair. I don't know about any of you, but I'm getting a distinctly "Prometheus"-like vibe here.

Stay tuned for more on the "Blade Runner" sequel as it develops.
