Agent Peggy Carter may have helped save the world during World War II, but her return to work will have her facing the same societal pressures as most women during the post-war era.

The post-war era will not spare Agent Peggy Carter from the blatant sexism most women faced at the time, but the SSR agent will not let such insulting language go unchecked as evidenced by the latest trailer for "Marvel's Agent Carter."

ABC released another TV spot for the period action drama that stars Hayley Atwell, reprising her role from "Captain America: The First Avenger." The eight-episode first season, dubbed a television event, will air in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." timeslot while that show goes on winter hiatus.

One character, played by delicious evil Ray Wise, makes the mistake of calling Carter a secretary. She quickly teaches him a lesson with her foot.

Atwell has already reprised her Agent Carter role in two episodes of "S.H.I.E.L.D." this season and will appear in next summer's Marvel movie "Ant-Man," starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas.

"Agent Carter" will welcome "Captain America" alum Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark in the premiere. The show will also star James D'Arcy (Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis), Chad Michael Murray (SSR Agent Jack Thompson), Ever Gjokaj (SSR Agent Daniel Sousa), Shea Whigham (Chief Roger Dooley), Costa Ronin (Anton Vanko), Bridget Regan (Carter's neighbor Dottie) and Lyndsy Fonseca (actress Angie Martinelli).

"Marvel's Agent Carter" premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
