Nadya Suleman, better known as "Octomom," is currently being investigated for welfare fraud, the Huffington Post reported on Monday.

Federal investigators got wind of the fact that the mother of 14 had accrued a hefty amount of cash from the government from a tipster who said Suleman raked in thousands of dollars more in government assistance than her $200,000 pay bracket allowed, surpassing the welfare cap of $119,000 or less a year.

RadarOnline.com reported the Los Angeles County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation are currently thumbing through 37 year-old Suleman's bank records, in addition to various documents that will tell whether or not Suleman evaded the government in 2012.

Investigators said that they will conduct a full search of her home and office, in addition to her manager's workspace to see if they can rustle up further evidence against the controversial mother.

If prosecuted, Suleman could face up to three years in prison.

Octomom received about $60,000 in government aid, including food stamps, despite the fact that she made a fair amount of money to support her children from pornography films, stripping and public appearances, the Huffington Post reported.

In fact, the mother received $58,680 from DD Entertainment, and another $57,499 from a different media firm, not to mention the cool $33,256 she amassed from a pornographic video, according to 1099 documents handed over to the WFP&I.

She got a large chunk of the aforementioned money from her appearance on HD Net's Celebridate, along with photo deals and commercials.

She ended her stint with welfare in 2012, but went back to government aid a few months after, in January 2013.

"She spent most of her savings while she was in Chapman Treatment center," former representative Gina Rodriguez told ABC News when the network first broke the story at the end of last year. "[She was] paying for around-the-clock nannies, drivers, security and her treatment program."
