Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts says fans will have to wait until next spring to get their hands on the tech giant's upcoming Apple Watch.

The statement follows the Cupertino, California-based company consistently saying it will release the device in "early 2015," without providing a specific day or month, according to 9to5Mac.

Ahrendts said a spring release date will give employees a chance to save energy for different shopping seasons that are coming up, saying "we're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring."

Features of the band include a magnetic charger and options of 38mm and 42mm watch faces, PC Magazine reported. Users will be able to look at photos, talk to friends and family, access Siri by pressing the dial, and call on apps by raising their wrist.

The watch will only be able to work when it is tethered to iPhone models 5 through 6 Plus.

Apple executives have reportedly started to enforce new retail strategies for the watch, such as training retail employees to help customers try on the device, 9to5Mac reported.

Sources say Ahrendts believes retail-based watch sales will improve customer relationships, which will most likely result in successful sales in the future.

Customers will be provided with three different versions of the watch upon its release, which are the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport, and the Apple Watch Edition, PC Magazine reported.

"I really wanted to say, stop for a moment, take a breath," Ahrendts said. "Realize that every customer you touch - and again I know you know this, but you're really busy - so just every customer that you touch, how do you make sure that they will walk away feeling very different, very positive, than before they walked into that store or they interacted with you?"
