George R.R. Martin visited 92nd Street Y’s theatre to promote his new book “The World of Ice and Fire” as well as chat about his “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga.

The Guardian reports Martin’s co-authors for his latest “Game of Thrones” inspired book, Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson, were also a part of the promotion. Martin opened up to the crowd about wanting to keep details about his later novels a secret.

The author explained many fans keep asking him questions to which he has the answers to but doesn’t want to give away, like Jon Snow’s paternity.

“One of the hardest things about putting this book together was what to tell and what not to tell … because there are things I want to say in later novels,” Martin told the audience.

The author also joked about taking so long to complete “Winds of Winter”, claiming if he were a House in the “A Song of Fire and Ice” saga his slogan would be “Deadline? What deadline?”

However, Martin recently explained to Santa Fe Independent Film Festival attendees why his progress on “Winds of Winter” has been infamously slow.

"Writer's block isn't to blame here, it's distraction. In recent years, all of the work I've been doing creates problems because it creates distraction,” Martin explained. “Because the books and the show are so popular I have interviews to do constantly. I have travel plans constantly. It's like suddenly I get invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai, and who's passing up a free trip to Dubai?”

“I don't write when I travel. I don't write in hotel rooms. I don't write on airplanes. I really have to be in my own house undisturbed to write. Through most of my life no body did bother me, but now everyone bothers me every day. I have assistants and minions whose main job is to make sure people don't bother me so I can actually get writing done."
