A woman who faked being deaf to keep her boyfriend is telling her story in a new series called "My Crazy Love."

A waitress from Kodiak, Alaska, who only identified herself as "Tina," dated her boyfriend for nine months before he discovered that she wasn't actually deaf.

Tina explains on the episode that it all began after she and her girlfriends were getting tired of the "whole dating scene" in Alaska, feeling as if there were no cute men left. When an attractive man approached her at the bar, she panicked and signed to him that she was deaf.

"I was frozen," Tina said on the episode. "I don't know why .... but I look at the guy and say, 'I'm deaf.' He just looks down at me, grabs my shoulder and yells 'My name is Chris.' He turns around to his buddies and says, 'This deaf chick is hot!'"

Tina admits on the show that it was hard to stay in character at times, although during three of those months her boyfriend, Chris, was on a fishing trip.

She said that it took a lot of effort to not respond to the noises around her when she was with Chris.

"If a door slams, you've got to not look," Tina said on the episode. "If a dog barks, you have to be really careful not to look or anything. Cross the street and you have to pretend you can't hear the horn honking at you."

"My Crazy Love" will air on Oct. 28 at 10/9 p.m. central on Oxygen.
