Students who aren't fans of math will be happy to hear that there's a new app out there that will help them get their math homework done quickly.

All you have to do is point the app, called PhotoMath, at a math problem you're having trouble with and it will study the problem with its camera and give the answer on the screen, according to PC Magazine.

PhotoMath can solve a variety of problems, including arithmetic expressions (plus sign, division, etc.), fractions and decimals, powers and roots and simple linear equations. However, hand-written math problems aren't supported on the app, so students will have to use it for problems in textbooks.

"It makes math easy and simple by educating users how to solve math problems," said Microblink, the creator of PhotoMath.

The app can do more than provide answers, as it gives step-by-step instructions that show how it solved the problem, Mashable reported.

Damir Sabol, CEO of Croatia-based MicroBlink, believes PhotoMath has a lot of positive potential uses, saying it can especially be used in situations "where mobile apps need to be connected to the real world through text recognition." He added that the company isn't centered on education-based products, but he is glad that PhotoMath is experiencing a good amount of success, such as getting in the finals of TechCrunch Europe earlier this week.

"We've had a million visits to our website and more than 110,000 downloads yesterday, and the traffic seems to be growing. As far as financing goes, we haven't taken any outside investments yet, but we're looking at that possibility as well," he said.

iOS and Windows Phone users are currently the only ones getting PhotoMath. Android users who want to get their math homework out of the way will have to wait until early 2015 to get the app.
