New York Knicks newcomer Jose Calderon might be the answer at point guard.  Cody Taylor of Basketball Insiders sees the veteran excelling in Phil Jackson's triangle offense, particularly in limiting turnovers and consistently hitting three-pointers.

One of New York's glaring deficiencies last season was at point guard.  That hole, according to Taylor, might be filled with the offseason addition of Calderon.

"The Knicks have needed to add a legitimate answer at point guard for a while now and finally have that in Jose Calderon," Taylor wrote Thursday.  "With Calderon running the show in New York, the Knicks get a player that won't turn the ball over and can shoot the three-point shot very well.  Calderon is a 41 percent career three-point shooter and converted 45 percent of his three-pointers last season with the Mavericks.

"Speaking of turnovers, Calderon finished third in the league in assists per turnovers with 3.66, which was behind only Chris Paul and Pablo Prigioni.  With Anthony back in New York on a new contract, Calderon will flourish in Fisher's triangle offense and will be the man for the job."

Anthony is excited about the triangle offense because it'll take some of the pressure off of him to score.  The ball movement the offense is predicated on should give everybody better opportunities to score, with Calderon being no exception.

Another player to watch is Iman Shumpert, who reportedly could try out playing at the 1-spot.  He's been studying Jackson's system, and with more open shots likely to come his way, could bounce back from last season's pedestrian performance and play himself off the trade block.
