There is no performance difference between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the upcoming “Assassin's Creed: Unity”, according to developers.

“Assassin's Creed” Senior Producer Vincent Pontbriand spoke to VideoGamer about the performance rates on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Pontbriand confirmed both consoles would run at 900p/30fps.

"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff," Pontbriand explained, claiming the consoles' CPUs are what’s improving performances.

"Technically we're CPU-bound," he continued. “The GPUs are really powerful, obviously the graphics look pretty good, but it's the CPU [that] has to process the AI, the number of NPCs we have on screen, all these systems running in parallel.

"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating, because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realised it was going to be pretty hard. It's not the number of polygons that affect the framerate. We could be running at 100fps if it was just graphics, but because of AI, we're still limited to 30 frames per second."

“Assassin's Creed: Unity” is set during the French Revolution. Gamers will be able to explore the streets of Paris, France while playing as Arno the Assassin. On his journey for redemption, Arno will encounter many historical figures, including Napoleon.

The latest trailer for the title reveals Arno's first encounter with Napoleon, but whether he is a fellow Assassin or a member of the Templars remains a mystery. Check out the Napoleon's debut in the trailer below.

“Assassin's Creed Unity” is set to launch on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 11.
