She's here! Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed their first child on Friday, Sept. 26, a Clinton spokesman told the Associated Press.

The news was announced on Clinton's verified Twitter page early Saturday morning.

"Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky," the tweet read.

Her parents, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, both retweeted the message from their own Twitter accounts. The baby news was also announced on Clinton's Facebook page.

The 34-year-old former NBC News special correspondent first announced her pregnancy in April at an event on the Lower East Side in New York City, the New York Times reports. Clinton, with her mother by her side, was discussing efforts by the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation to advance women and girls' rights when she shockingly broke the news.

"One more thing to say very quickly," Clinton said at the time. "Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year."

"I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and, hopefully, children as my mom was to me," she added.

Clinton and Mezvinsky got married in 2010 and live in New York.

UPDATE: Both Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton congratulated their daughter and shared the first photos of baby Charlotte.

"@BillClinton and I are over the moon to be grandparents! One of the happiest moments of our life," Hillary tweeted.
